Chalet T Royal is the perfect place for a family skiing holiday.  We are very relaxed about having children in the property and have done all we can to ensure that both parents and children will have a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

The key to a successful family skiing holiday is keeping your children happy and that means flexibility.  At Chalet T Royal we pride ourselves on our flexibility and provide the perfect environment for a family friendly ski holiday without compromise. We have provided a separate games/TV room equipped with Table football and electronic games to keep younger members of the party happy.

Childcare
There are several options for childcare and we are happy to discuss all your requirements with you.  Our top line service is our private nanny care ……
Nanny Services
Alison, our nanny, is a perfect option if you have very young children or babies in your group.  She will provide a 24/7 childcare service which is second to none.

Even before you book with us we will pass you Alison’s details so that you can contact her to discuss your holiday childcare needs. Then after you have confirmed your booking Alison will be back in touch to discuss all your children’s requirements – nappies, toiletries, beds, cots, food and drink.  Where possible, she will meet you and your children in the UK so that you and they know who will be sharing their holiday with them.

Alison was trained at Norland College and has many years of caring for young children under her belt.  She has worked personally for the management company for 16 years and is hugely respected for the service that she provides.

All children booked in with Alison are cared for in the homely atmosphere of the Chalet where we have a selection of games, toys, books and activities for them to enjoy.  We do realise however, that many parents wish to spend some of the time with their children during their holiday and Alison is happy to meet parents on the mountain so that they can have lunch together or if they just wish to spend some time en-famille soaking up the Alpine atmosphere.

Where there are older children booked into ski school Alison can arrange to meet them at the end of their lessons to bring them back to the chalet for a rest in the afternoon.

You can see that there are many options and it is best to discuss all your requirements either with Fiona or Alison directly.

Alison is responsible for the preparation of all the children’s food whilst she is in the chalet.  As a general rule she prepares a hot home-cooked lunch and tea although she obviously adheres to the children’s normal routine and diet as closely as possible.  She is also responsible for all the children’s laundry whilst they are in her care.

And as an additional bonus all nappies, toiletries and formulae or special milks are included the cost.

Village Creche
La Galipette is the village crèche which is situated next to the Loyers piste in the village.  The crèche accepts children between 1 and 7 years old and it is possible to combine ski school and childcare from the age of 2 ½.

Children can be booked in for various times during the day – mornings to include lunch, mornings without lunch, afternoons, whole days.  It is advisable to book well in advance during the main French holidays and the places in the ski school element are strictly limited.

Although we can drop off and collect children and their parents at La Galipette  we do find that those with their own transport have increased flexibility since the chalet vehicle may not always be available – during staff down-time, for instance.

Child Minding
There is a list of registered child minders available from the village tourist office.  These are local people who have expressed an interest in looking after children within their own homes.  There is no guarantee that these people will speak English or have any recognised childcare qualifications. Arrangements for the use of child minders should be made directly between the parents and the  carer.
